Welcome to fotobot.com – thank you for visiting my site and artwork.
I
am a visual artist working in photography and mixed media jewelry in Chicago. For the past twenty years, I have montaged photographic images to create imagined and symbolic layered compositions.
My fine art photography is represented by Art Exhibition Link in Europe.
I have exhibited my work throughout the U.S., with a focus on Chicago
galleries, and in Rome, Berlin and Paris. I received my Master of Fine Arts
in Photography from the Rhode Island School of Design and my Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from Smith College. I received a
Fulbright Award to study in Rome, grants from the Illinois Arts Council
for bodies of work and grants from the city of Chicago to create artwork.
For the past two years, I have incorporated my imagery of graffiti and other art into jewelry. I integrate my imagery into wearable art using recycled
items and mixed media. Photographing graffiti in Berlin, Paris and Chicago
and using details of my favorite paintings, I create wearable art
using bottle caps, dominoes, Scrabble tiles, glass tiles, maps and Kodachrome film.
I love creating art that people can wear and enjoy. I also create
usable art in the form of light switch plates.
My jewelry is represented in over 55 stores in 15 states
throughout the country.
My work will be included in a number of upcoming Chicago area art fairs. Please check out the What's New page to see a listing of events. In January 2009, I'll have booths at the Atlanta and Chicago gift markets.
I hope to see you at one of these upcoming events.
