REVERIE STATEMENT

“And in the stream the long–leaved flowers weep, and from the craggy ledge the poppy hangs in sleep. Give us long rest or death, dark death, or dreamful ease."  - ALFRED LORD TENNYSON

Inspired by this poem, these images were created by montaging two negatives of enlarged views of poppies and women floating in water with black veils. The poppy connotes sleep, forgetfulness, death and oblivion yet contains the seeds of renewal, regeneration, life and beauty.

The digital photographs are printed with Ultrachrome Inks on Epson Luster paper and are archival for 100+ years (compared to the 20 year life span of a chromogenic c-print). All prints are signed, dated, numbered in a limited edition of 6 and available in 5 different image sizes ranging from 13” x 19” up to 44” x 66”.
